Description: Just noticed new flagging options. Made a video in case you haven't seen them or never flagged a video before. Notice it says attacks or 'demeans' a protected group under hate speech now. ***Per our Community Guidelines, we don't permit hate speech, which attacks or demeans a protected group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity. Please indicate the group attacked.**** We've given our definitions of YouTube's flagging terms below: Graphic sexual activity "Graphic sexual activity" describes content which contains actual visible or implied sex acts. Nudity "Nudity" refers to exposed or see-through coverage of areas typically covered by a bathing suit or underwear. Sometimes nudity is allowed on YouTube, depending on the context. Suggestive, but without nudity "Suggestive" content refers to materials with sexual themes that do not necessarily depict sexual activity or nudity. Sexually suggestive content may not be suitable for all audiences and may include fetish-related content. Shocking or disgusting content "Shocking or disgusting content" refers to disturbing imagery, such as graphic depictions of violence, accidents or gore, which lack an appropriate context. ----------------- Promotes hatred or violence against a protected group Hate speech is content that promotes or encourages hatred or violence toward a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity. ----------------- Harmful dangerous acts "Harmful dangerous acts" may include content which is depicts behavior likely to cause serious injury or death to a third party. Reveals personally identifying information This refers to revealing information that identifies another person against their wishes, such as home address, telephone number, social security number or credit card number. ***PLEASE do not abuse this system and use it only for serious infractions!!!***

KirneH003 ::: Favorites  2007-11-06 14:26:05 Thanks for this, Guam-- Coupla things: It might be considered "religious bullying" if a VERY strong Christian says to someone who is not, "if you're not Christian, you're going to Hell". As a result, a Christian might get unintentionally flagged for proselytizing on YT, and not realize exactly what he/she/it did wrong. The broadened flagging is a double-edged sword. It can be used to spread a kind of paranoia here that never existed before. Just something to think about. Henrik __________________________________________________

KirneH003 ::: Favorites  2007-11-06 14:40:02 See-- I used to be Lutheran, but I was kicked out of Sunday school when I was about 9-10 and I never went back; now I believe in the Bill&Ted philosophy of, "be excellent to everybody". Some Christians I've met insist that if I just do it that way, I'm hellbound. Would I be flagged for disagreeing with them? Would they be flagged for bashing me to death with a bible? __________________________________________________

It's been at least a month since I last flagged a vid, and this is all new since then. I agree that it'll be abused (and I see in the comments the kiddies already threatening to flag each other for swapping insults), but I also see its potential as a VERY useful tool for the benefit of the Community. Why tell people they are going to burn forever when they are saved and their sins forgiven if they just turn to Christ. Tools can be used either way. You just have to realize what you use them for. __________________________________________________
