This is the first year of Takaesu Sensei as a teacher at Nishihara High School. From this year forward, This school won every national champion they were eligible to win, capturing 4 out of 6 titles, as well as two world titles and placed out of 3 competitions. The Takaesu dynasty begins.

It's a shame the video production company doesn't offer an alternate 'high camera only' angle on these DVDs. Other than that, the video quality is superb. There's a drill move that begins at 7:47 which would've been nice to see, but instead they cut to the battery doing next to nothing visually at that moment.

Wow, for the first year, the drill writer is really pulling the kids all over. This show easily has the largest avg. step size of the bunch. (Keep in mind, 5 to 5 in Japan is 5 steps to 5 METERS! ...About 16 inches further than 5 yards.)
Ya know, I hadn't been paying attention until seeing the closeups in this video. I noticed that they're balancing the sound rather nicely with 3/4 tubas.

Wow. Get rid of the band instruments add some more bugles and you'd get a vaary competitive, if not winning, corps. Then DCI can truly be international.
