Tapslore, I agree with everything your saying, this scene just made the movie for me and it is my favorite movie. Luckily my mother and father were just huge fans of Eastwood and it was all I watched growing up. The dialogue in this scene is just great!

If anyone "deserved" it, it was Little Bill. Little Bill...probably called that by a former lover or a prostitute for obvious reasons. No wonder he was ornary.

the whole time, you're wondering why eastwood's playing such a wuss, even though ned and others keep mentioning his former life. that's why this scene is so powerful for me: you realize why he was so remorseful to begin with, being such a stone-cold killer when he's drunk. the scene after this with munny visiting his wife's grave became extra poignant, when we realize how he can never forgive himself after breaking his death-bed promise to her

great excerpt! but people who haven't seen the rest of the movie will think that munny's just being a typical tough guy. the first part of the film actually shows him as a reformed man, patient and good natured (he deserved the oscar playing against his usual roles).
