The basic point is that you can't just shut all these people out, because they're going to get here one way or another. Instead, you have to deal with the fact that they are coming in a civil manner. Mentioning the language is no way to tell me I'm saying the wrong thing; that's only a way to tell me you didn't hear what I was saying because you were distracted.
