Description:

Here's one of the many ways a webcam can be converted to a camera for a telescope. This is kind of an old mod but it shows pretty well the kind of things you would need to do. There is no limit on the design on these cameras, everybody pretty much goes their own way. You can check the web (places like QCUIAG ) for all kinds of links for designs and free software.

Hardly, the 'l' before 'd' is silent, as it is in 'would'. Nobody who uses solder calls it sol-der', unless this is some new way to say it, like 'off-ten' for 'off-en' (often).

No, it is the old way to say it. The proper way. Pronounced this way by the people who invented the english language. People who spell harbour and colour the correct way. The truth is we all find it hilarious when we hear yanks and canadian saying "sodder" ;)

Sir, may I say I enjoy your videos and extend my respect to your learned self. The subject of solder's pronunciation is becoming quite interesting. It seems, contrary to your claim, that both ways of pronouncing 'solder' are acceptable. The latter "sawder" being used in the "new world". However, given that the word originates from the Latin solidare, meaning ''to make solid'', I will righteously stick with my pronunciation. Humbly yours, Alan in Scotland. VOTE INDEPENDENCE 2010 :)
