Description:

Osaka Dialect for Beginners is here to teach Japanese learners the language spoken in the other half of Japan (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, etc.) and the sometimes subtle, sometimes huge differences. Chapter two deals with a few verbs used only in the Kansai area. (Hokasu, Kokeru, Makeru, Shiharu)

Kokeru and makeru are used in Kanto area including Tokyo too. Isn't makeru standard japanese word? If not, what is standard word for makeru?

kansai ben is a dialect that is composed of many dialects, kansai ben or osaka ben doesnt only refer to just a dialect in osaka prefecture, which is a huge misconception for many. This is why people in osaka and nagoya both use the word kokeru. I hope that helped :) best regards
