kean1983 ::: Favorites But who cares :) I was just on their concert in the synagogue and I was not thinking about the origin... In Transylvania and Moldva there are many people, it is not just simply romanian, don't be so silly. Jews, Germans, Romanians, Hungarians and lots of other people live(d) together there... so, do not be so nationalist, just listen the music and feel it and if you have time and money, visit one of the concerts :) 07-09-04 17:06:42 _____________________________________________________
giubica1 ::: Favorites The style and structure of klezmer as we know it today is thought to have come largely from 19th century Bessarabia (Romania), where the bulk of today's traditional repertoire was written. It is based on hora, sirba, doina, all of them of Romanian origin. For more detail see Wikipedia Klezmer. 07-09-03 23:58:39 _____________________________________________________

KawhackitaRag ::: Favorites Of course I've heard of Itzhak Perlman, but I am completely unfamiliar with this kind of music. It's nice, I enjoyed it. I find it interesting that, to my ear, it sounds like Klezmer sometimes expresses joyous emotions in a minor key, whereas ragtime, by contrast, is known to sometimes express feelings of melancholy in a major key. These are both unusual, since the general public usually associates happiness with major keys, and sadness with minor ones. 07-08-20 07:21:58 _____________________________________________________
celinajanina ::: Favorites A complete joy..... so welcome in this world and so inclusive of all peoples ! Thanks... 07-08-20 03:02:13 _____________________________________________________ |
