I think you should choose your words a little better. I never disrespected Vinnie in anyway. He's a great drummer, but others are "better" and have "surpassed" Vinnie. It's not written in stone, but it's my own "personal view". If somebody asks me about Vinnie I always say, "He's one of the very best". Better in terms of what? Saying a drummer is better than someone else is a mockery of the term called art. Can't you just respect someone's talent and not say someone's better than him/her? Really, who cares who you think is better or worse than Vinnie. That being said, I have heard and seen drummers that are better to me. Notice I said to me. patrickforpresident ::: Favorites I've seen and heard Vinnie play for years, so don't even try that bullshit with me. With Zappa, Gino Vanelli, Jeff Beck, and Sting. He's a good solid player, but IMO a bit overrated. There are so many players as good, if not better. I base my opinion on years of watching, and listening to the best players in the world. Vinnie has been doing the same stuff for 30 years now. There are many drummers who are better.
